The future
Sometimes a plan doesn’t unfold the way we hoped. Sometimes the path we’ve been walking suddenly breaks beneath our feet, and everyone involved feels the shock of it.
Creative work is rarely linear. It bends, it shifts, it asks us to adapt. It asks us to try, even when trying feels risky. And yes, sometimes trying means things fall apart. Sometimes people are disappointed. Sometimes the structure we were building turns out not to be the right one after all. But if you never try, you never discover what could be. And if something collapses, it doesn’t mean the vision collapses with it.
The gallery will still happen, just not in the place I first imagined. The community will still grow, just not in the way I first planned. The work continues because the work matters.
For now, the website is quiet while I reshape the next chapter. New plans are already forming: pop‑ups, fairs, temporary spaces, and eventually a new permanent home. The project is still alive, still moving, still becoming.
Thank you for walking this journey with me. More is coming and it will be worth the wait.

Emma Freeman born Northampton, is an artist based in Wye Kent. Working with handmade paper, mineral paint and earth pigments.
Before studying fine art in East Sussex, Freeman worked for three decades in accounting and developed parallel interests in medieval history, bookbinding and the gaming world. The experiences gained in these sectors contribute to the structural, material and narrative sensibilities of her current practice.
